Carnell Poindexter III, President & Founder

Hello, my name is Carnell Poindexter, and I am the President and Founder of ICI. I am currently a 3rd year Award of Distinction scholar at Central Michigan University, majoring in Law & Economics with a minor in Public Law. I serve as a Campus Ambassador for Undergraduate Admissions, sit on the Undergraduate Board of Directors for the Northern Province of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and intern at the Allen Law Group in downtown Detroit. I founded ICI based on a core belief: knowledge is the gateway to greatness, and that gate should never be locked to anyone.

Dari Johnson, Vice President

My name is Dari Johnson. I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. I am a Communication and Media Arts High school Alum and I’ve always been proud to represent Detroit whole heartedly. It is an honor to be Vice President of Inner City Inclusion, especially to help be the voice for people that need it. I strive to better my community and help others that seek higher education. 


Morgan Shropshire, Secretary

Hello! My name is Morgan Shropshire, and I’m an Honors student at Central Michigan University majoring in Human Resource Management. I’m actively involved on campus as a member of Collegiate DECA, an Inclusion Assistant for Residence Life, and a former staff member for the IMPACT program. As Secretary on the Inner City Inclusion executive board, I support our mission by staying organized, contributing to strategic planning, and helping advance ICI’s goals in any way I can. 

Kyle Cox, Treasurer

I am a M.A.C. Scholar at Central Michigan University, majoring in Real Estate: Development & Finance with a minor in Management. I currently serve as Treasurer for Inner City Inclusion, where I help manage financial operations to support our mission and growth. I’m also a licensed real estate salesperson in Metro Detroit and am passionate about using my skills to contribute to meaningful, positive change through this organization.

Kennedy Butler, Community Outreach Chair

Hello! My name is Kennedy Butler and I’m a Junior at Central Michigan University majoring in Information Systems and Hospitality. I’m super excited to be apart of the team and to represent ICI as the Community Outreach Chair!


Zachary Jones, Event Coordinator

Hello, my name is Zachary Jones, and I proudly serve as the Event Coordinator for Inner City Inclusion. I’m a junior at Central Michigan University, where I’m a M.A.C. Scholar majoring in Information Technology with a minor in Networking. In my role, I plan and execute impactful events for communities in Detroit and surrounding areas. My goal is to inspire and motivate younger students by showing them that attending and completing college is not only possible—it’s within their reach.

Amber Ladd, Social Media Chair

Hello! My name is Amber Ladd and I’m a Junior majoring in Social Studies Education with a concentration in Political Science. I am also minoring in History Education. I’m thrilled to be representing ICI as Social Media Chair!

Kamill Beecham, PR Chair

Hello, my name is Kamill Beecham, and I currently serve as the PR Chair for Inner City Inclusion. I’m a M.A.C. Scholar at Central Michigan University majoring in Social Work, and I’m proud to represent my hometown of Detroit, Michigan. I'm passionate about advocating for students with backgrounds similar to mine, and through my work with ICI, I’m excited to help amplify their voices and create meaningful change.
