ICI Committees

ICI is divided into four committees that target specific areas of the college experience. Each committee is led by two to three E-Board members that excel in that particular area. While the organization is in constant collaboration, the committees help honor the skills of each E-Board member and break down higher education into sections that are more manageable for incoming students.

College Essay Committee:

This committee serves to assist students in writing college entrance essays that answer a variety of different prompts. It is led by Dari Johnson, Kamill Beechum, and Kennedy Butler.

Scholarship Essay Committee:

This committee works with students to complete scholarship essays, which tend to be more specific than a typical college entrance essay. Combined with the pressure of earning a scholarship, these essays tend to be particularly challenging. This committee is led by Morgan Shorpshire and Zach Jones.

Financial Aid Committee:

Paying for college can be an enormous stress, especially since scholarship and aid opportunities are often under-advertised. This committee is dedicated to helping students understand FAFSA, expose them to different opportunities, and assist with financial questions and concerns. It is led by Kyle Cox and Avery Toal.

Mentor/College Advice Committee:

The final committee is responsible for serving as mentors to incoming college students. They will provide insights about the college experience, offer advice as needed, and share tips and tricks they’ve learned throughout college. This committee is led by Amber Ladd and Carnell Poindexter.
